William "Bill" Forman
Henrick William (Bill) Forman-passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay with his wife Linda at his side. It was their 31st wedding anniversary. He is survived by daughter Catherine and sons Bill Jr., John (Shu Yan), and sister Teddy Poe (late Robert). He is predeceased by sister Vera and her husband William Stoddart. Bill will be fondly remembered by his children, sister, grandchildren Jaryd and Leah, brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Elizabeth, his extended family and friends.
Bill was the crown jewel of the Forman Family. In his 94years he accomplished many things as father, mentor, supervisor, cook, sports fan, athlete, musician, soldier and coach. He did all these things with humility, style, grace and a great sense of humour.
Bill grew up in Lindsay, graduating from Lindsay Collegiate Vocational Institute in 1938. He served two years in the Royal Canadian Air Force stationed in Gander, Newfoundland during World War 11. In 1954, he graduated from the University of Toronto in Forestry. His career took him to several locations throughout Ontario for the Ministry of Natural Resources. Bill returned to Lindsay in 1983 as Lindsay's District Manager where he retired in 1987. Later he worked on a contract basis for the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Bill was an avid trumpet player growing up. At the age of 12, he won two gold medals for trumpet, one at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto and the other at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver. Later in life, he returned to music, playing trumpet with several Kawartha area bands.
He married Mary Elizabeth Carnwith in 1955 and had three children. He lost Mary to cancer in 1979. In 1987, Bill married Linda and they were together for over 30 years.

There will be a public celebration to honour Bill at the STODDART FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 24 Mill St., Lindsay, ON K9V 2L1 (705-324-3205) on Sunday, June 17 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with a service to be held in the chapel at 1:00 P.M. A reception at Stoddart Funeral Home-North Parlour will immediately follow the service. Interment will take place at Eden Cemetery, Cambray at a later date.
