Obituary

FAIRMAN, Ronald 'Bruce' - passed away peacefully at the Ross Memorial Hospital on Tuesday June 18, 2019 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Fairman (nee Hudgin) for 63 years and loving father of Wendy McDonald, Linda Thaler, Cheryl Moher and David Fairman. He was the father-in-law of the late Peter McDonald, Bill Thaler, late Thomas Moher and the late Paula Fairman (nee Connolly). He was the cherished grandfather of Michael McDonald (Danielle), Carlie Arbour (Danny); Shelby and Lucas Thaler; Benjamin Moher (Sarah), Emily Prado (Diogo) and William Moher; Sarah (Lucas), Paul, Peter and Mark (predeceased) Fairman; and great grandfather of Avery, James, Caleb, Finley, Mason and Scarlett. Bruce is predeceased by his brothers Carl and Hugh. He will be missed by his sister Marie and husband Clare Perigoe and by his brother Ralph and wife Gail Fairman. Uncle Bruce will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Bruce might be most remembered as a colourful character who loved to stir the pot and had a passion for fashion on the golf course. He brought his zest for life to the sports he loved including baseball, hockey and golf and was extremely proud to be inducted into the Lindsay & District Sports Hall of Fame. He instilled a strong work ethic and nurtured a love of family that will be his lasting legacy. In keeping with Bruce's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a 'Celebration of Life' for family and friends at the Lindsay Golf & Country Club, 282 Lindsay St., S., Lindsay on Monday June 24, 2019 from 3 - 5 P.M. There will be a memory basket at the celebration of life and the family would invite you to jot down a memory or thought about Bruce, sign and drop in the basket to share with the family. A private interment will take place at the McNeil Cemetery, Wick. In lieu of flowers and for those wishing, memorial donations to the Junior Golf Program at the Lindsay Golf & Country Club (by cash/credit card/cheque) or the McNeil Cemetery (by cash or cheque only) would be appreciated by the family and may be arranged through the Stoddart Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay, Ontario K9V 2L1 (705-324-3205). Ted and I have fond memories of the good times in Little Britain when Bruce coached the Intermediate Hockey Team. We were sorry we could not attend the Celebration of Life. Thinking of the Fairman Family at this time.

Wendy, Linda, Cheryl and David, our deepest condolences On your Dad’s passing. He was truly a man who loved life and loved to torment and tease. Mike and I have fond memories of your parents and especially when your Dad came to finish our basement in our first home. He did such a wonderful job and would celebrate with my folks and Mike each night. He always had a sparkle in his eye and truly was a kind sole, in his own right. I would like to think that your Dad was greeted by your Mom and my parents with a rye and ginger in hand for him. Rest In Peace Bruce. Mike and Gail Anderson.
